The PGA golf season is definitely back in a big way. After the successful staging of the Charles Schwab Challenge last week, where the total prizes given away amounted to a cool $7.5 million, the PGA Tour is going to distribute even more money this coming weekend at the 2020 RBC Heritage. All players in the top five of the official world golf rankings are locked in to tee off at Harbour Town in South Carolina, each with eyes on the huge top prize. Read on to know the total sum that is up for grabs this weekend at the 2020 RBC Heritage.

The Total Payout – $7,800,000
From $6.9 million in total purse last year, the overall prize this year at the RBC Heritage is at a whopping amount of $7.1 million. The $200,000 worth of jump in the total prize is even bigger than the purse sum at the very first Heritage Golf Classic tournament way back in 1969 when Arnold Palmer took home $20,000. Since then, the purse at the tournament has gradually increased, hitting the $1-million mark for the first time ever in 1990, when Payne Stewart won his second — and last — Heritage Golf Classic title. In 2005, the total purse cleared the $5-million threshold, as Peter Lonard won $936,000 of the $5.2 million sum.
