There is quite a big leap in the total purse amount in The Genesis Invitational. From $9.3 million in 2021, the purse this year jumps to $12 million. That means the winner’s cut this 2022 in the event will be the biggest ever in the history of the tournament. Last year, Max Homa topped the field and took home a cool sum of $1.674 million. Back in 1926, when the first-ever version of this tourney (then known as the Los Angeles Open) Harry Cooper scored the win and pocketed just $3,500 out of the purse total of $10,000. Not too shabby, but certainly much less handsome than what the winner of The Genesis Invitational 2022 is going to be cashing in.
