Mito Pereira (+4000)
It might be another Chilean who ends up on top this week. Pereira will look to follow the lead of his countryman, Joaquin Niemann, who won the 2022 Genesis Invitational, as he sets foot at the PGA National Champion Course. Pereira had a respectable T15 finish at the Riviera Country Club last week, so he will be looking to build on that momentum. On the season, Pereira has gone 8 of 11 with a top 5 finish from a solo third place in the Fortinet Championship back in September. He is currently 29th this season in terms of greens in regulation percentage (72.36%) and 12th in total putting (123.7).
Aaron Wise (+5500)
It’s easy to overlook Wise, as he hasn’t done anything noteworthy this year. In three starts this 2022, he’s missed the cut twice. Last week, he settled for a T67 performance in The Genesis Invitational. However, Wise is a perfect 3 of 3 at the PGA National, so that’s something to make people think about his value. Last year, Wise shot a 64 in each of the first two rounds before fading and ending up with a still-decent 13th place.
Denny McCarthy (+5500)
The 28-year-old McCarthy took a rest last week, as he skipped the Genesis Invitational, but he is now ready to go again. He is having a silent but stable campaign thus far, having gone 6 of 11 with six top 25s and two top 10s. After getting cut in two of this first three starts, he’s gone 7 of 8, including a T6 in The American Express and a T10 in The RSM Classic. Although he did not make the cut in his first three career appearances at the PGA National, McCarthy had a podium finish the last time he was there, placing third in 2021.
