Betting on the San Antonio Spurs (42-13)

Point Spread: -10.5

LaMarcus Aldridge isn’t too happy about Golden State having four All-Stars, but he should feel the opposite about San Antonio’s only All-Star this season in Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard put on an excellent performance in Monday night’s 110-104 win at Indiana, scoring a game-high 32 points on 13-of-23 shooting from the floor. He added six rebounds and four steals to that, while Aldridge backed him up with 19 points on a night where the Spurs needed every bucket to overcome a surprisingly poor defensive effort. They allowed Indy to shoot nearly 50 percent from the field, along with two players scoring more than 20 points.

That likely won’t be an issue tonight versus the Magic, who are averaging below 100 points per game. They also traded away Serge Ibaka to Toronto recently, which should make it easier for the Spurs to attack the paint for some easy deuces. Then again, Orlando beat the Spurs at home earlier this season, so an upset is not out of the question.

San Antonio is 6-4 SU and 4-6 ATS in its last 10 road games.

Betting on the Orlando Magic (21-36)

Point Spread: +10.5

Trading away Serge Ibaka was a clear indication that the Magic are now completely sold on building for the future. There’ll be more minutes available for the young ones, and at the same time, it betters their chances of owning a high pick in this summer’s draft.

That sounds like tanking but Orlando will still be gunning for wins and upsets, like in tonight’s matchup with the visiting Spurs. The Magic won the first meeting at San Antonio this season, which was mostly thanks to San Antonio’s terrible shooting, not because of their defense.

Orlando has dropped seven of its last 10 games, losing by an average margin of nearly 20 points. The offense (99.9 PPG), meanwhile, remains as inconsistent and as ever.

However, Frank Vogel’s team is coming off a 116-107 win in Miami, during which their leading scorer this season—Evan Fournier (16.9 PPG)—tallied 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting, and Elfrid Payton added 20 points off the bench.
