Sporting have been in uneven form for the past month or so. They’ve gone just 1-2-2 over their last five matches, and were recently knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions League after suffering a 2-1 home defeat to Vancouver.

However, it should be noted that four of those five league matches did come on the road. They are unbeaten in their last seven matches at home, and had a six-match winning streak going prior to their 3-3 draw with Houston. Sporting are 9-2-4 at home this season.

SKC also have a very solid home record against L.A. Sporting are undefeated since 2007 against the Galaxy, with four wins and four draws during that span.

Leading scorer Dom Dwyer (13 goals this season) should be ready for selection following the birth of his son. Dwyer scored in Sporting’s recent 3-3 draw with Houston.

Betting on the Los Angeles Galaxy (+260)

The Galaxy are now up to second in the West after going on quite an impressive run over the past few months. They have suffered just one defeat in their last 14 MLS matches (6-7-1), and are unbeaten in their last six after their win over Orlando SC 4-2 last Sunday.

They have probably drawn more often than they’d like, but at least they haven’t lost too many matches, especially on the road. L.A. has lost only four games away from home all season, tied for the fewest in the entire league.

The Galaxy have scored 49 goals and conceded just 32, both the best marks in the conference. During their impressive 14-match run, they’ve been held scoreless just once. Giovanni dos Santos has been a huge reason for their recent success. The Mexican has scored seven goals in his last seven games, including five in his last three to go with two assists.

That already star-studded Galaxy attack, led by dos Santos and Robbie Keane, has also added another star to the mix with the return of all-time great Landon Donovan from retirement.

Writer’s Prediction

Sporting KC continue their unbeaten streak at home against L.A., but the Galaxy manage to rescue a point on the road. The two play out an entertaining 2-2 draw (+235).
