Sports Betting Power Rankings – September 23, 2013

After scouring the NFL, NCAA and MLB in search of the best performers based on their straight-up and/or against the spread success from the past seven days, here is our list of this week’s top ten teams.

The Top Bet Sports Betting Power Rankings – September 23

 1. Indianapolis Colts (NFL)

Maybe the Colts just want to be underdogs. After failing to cover in the first two weeks as favorites, Indianapolis delivered the biggest upset of NFL’s Week 3 thus far when it went to San Francisco and demolished the defending NFC champs 27-7 as a 10.5-point underdogs.

2. Seattle Seahawks (NFL)

The Seattle Seahawks more than justified being 19-point favorites at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Russell Wilson threw four touchdowns en route to the Seahawks covering the largest spread of the young NFL season. Seattle remains a perfect 3-0 ATS this season.

3. Ohio State Buckeyes (NCAAF)

In hindsight, a 51-point spread doesn’t look big enough. Ohio State absolutely demolished Florida A&M 76-0 and covered NCAA Football’s largest spread this week. The Buckeyes improve to 3-1 ATS this year.

4. Washington Huskies (NCAAF)

After barely failing to cover against Illinois, the University of Washington covered the massive 50 ½ point spread against Idaho State with a 56-0 win at home. The Huskies are now 3-0 SU on the season.

5. Cincinnati Reds (MLB)

Cincinnati is making one last push for the NL Central crown. The Reds went 5-2 this week after they swept the Houston Astros in three games and took two out of three in their pivotal series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

6. Texas A&M Aggies (NCAAF)

Johnny Football valiantly covered in a losing effort last week against Alabama, and did it again en-route to a victory against SMU. The Aggies won 42-13 on the strength of Manziel’s 346 total yards and covered the 27.5-point spread. Texas A&M is 3-1 ATS this season.

7. Oakland Athletics (MLB)

Oakland is carrying all sorts of momentum into the playoffs. The A’s went 5-2 this week, powered by a four-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins.

8. Florida State Seminoles (NCAAF)

Not satisfied with a 36-point spread against Nevada, Jameis Winston and Florida State defeated Bethune-Cookman 54-6 to cover an even higher 40-point spread. The Seminoles are now 3-0 ATS this season.

9. New England Patriots (NFL)

After going 0-2 ATS with consecutive double-digit spreads against the Bills and Jets, New England finally got it done against the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady went 25-of-36 for 225 yards and 2 TDs as the Patriots covered a more manageable 7-point spread with a 23-3 win.

10. UCLA Bruins (NCAAF)

UCLA’s high-powered offense was at it again as it blew past New Mexico State 59-13. The Bruins produced an astonishing 692 total yards of offense to cover the 44-point spread. UCLA remains a perfect 3-0 ATS.
