There is not a bigger game in Week 10 than this one featuring undefeated teams in the Tennessee Volunteers and the Georgia Bulldogs. Tennessee could end up being ranked No. 1 overall if it successfully takes down the Bulldogs. Of course, that is going to be easier said than done, considering that Georgia is also playing at home in Athens in this contest. Betting on the Tennessee Volunteers (+8.5)
Record: 8-0 Overall / 6-0 Conference
The Volunteers showed their readiness for the huge matchup against Georgia by dropping the Kentucky Wildcats at home last Saturday, 44-6. Tennessee showed no mercy at all against a very good Kentucky squad that entered the game as the No. 19 team overall. Quarterback Herndon Hooker passed for 245 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions on 19/25 completions while also scoring a touchdown on the ground. If there is a team that can beat the Bulldogs, Tennessee is the best bet among the rest to do it. The Volunteers have the better quarterback in the upcoming matchup – arguably even the best QB in the nation – and also has a defense that just limited Kentucky to only 205 total yards.
Tennessee is 4-0 against the spread in its last four games overall.
Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (-8.5)
Record: 5-3 Overall / 4-0 Conference
Despite an uneven performance from quarterback Stetson Bennett, Georgia still managed to destroy the Gators at home in Week 9, 42-20. Bennett passed for 316 yards and two touchdowns, but was just 19/38 on his passes and also finished with two interceptions against Florida. Georgia’s rushing attack was incredibly robust versus Florida, while tight end Brock Bowers was nearly unstoppable downfield, catching five passes for 154 yards and a touchdown. Those are some of the weapons Georgia will be going with in Week 10 against Tennessee, and the Bulldogs can get even more dangerous if they clean up on avoidable errors and penalties that hurt them in the Florida game.
Georgia is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
Georgia wins, 30-23.
