Betting on the Texas Rangers (+1.5)

The Rangers will send Matt Moore to the mound this Sunday, and it’ll be a huge task for the lefty to get a win in this game considering how bad he’s been of late. Moore has allowed a total of 15 earned runs on 20 hits over 9.2 innings in his last two starts. Fortunately for him, he picked a no decision in his last start, as the Rangers’ offense got his back on May 7 in a 7-6 win. So far this season, Moore is 1-4 with a 7.71 ERA. In his last four starts, he’s gone 0-1 with a 10.34 ERA. Texas’ offense will have to be there for Moore again. Adrian Beltre is 7-for-18 with two homers off of Dallas Keuchel.

The Rangers are 2-1 in their last three games against Keuchel.

Betting on the Houston Astros (-1.5)

Dallas Keuchel has steadied the boat since allowing six earned runs to Oakland in an 8-1 home loss on Apr. 27. Since then, Keuchel has allowed only four earned runs on 11 hits in 15 total innings across two starts. He avenged the earlier loss to Oakland with a sterling performance on May 7, pitching for eight innings and allowing just an earned run on five hits in a 15-2 victory over the A’s on the road. Keuchel is 6-5 with a 2.78 ERA in 20 total appearances (18 starts) in his career against Oakland. Keuchel will also be leaning on the Astros’ offense against Moore. Jose Altuve is 4-for-10 with two RBI against Moore while Carlos Correa is 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles off of the Rangers’ lefty.

The Astros are 6-4 in Keuchel’s last 10 starts at home dating back to last year.

Writer’s Prediction:

Houston wins the Lone Star State rivalry, 6-3.
