That has seen them climb to within two points of current East leaders Toronto, although they have played one more game. However, the Red Bulls suffered a rare home setback in a 2-2 draw against D.C. United last Sunday.
Bradley Wright-Phillips got on the scoresheet for the fourth match running against United, though, and has returned to the top of the MLS goalscoring charts with 18 goals. Wright-Phillips scored a hat-trick in less than 30 minutes in their last meeting with Toronto, which New York won 3-0 at home.
Road form continues to be a major issue for the Red Bulls. They’re just 2-6-7 away from Red Bull Arena this season. However, one of those two wins did come in their most recent outing against Vancouver, and their last road loss came all the way back on Independence Day at the hands of NYCFC.
