Toyota Owners 400 Expert Picks and Predictions 2019

Kyle Busch must be walking with flames covering him, as he’s just been so hot this year. He’s making the competition eat his dust, and there seems to be no slowing him down. Even the experts are being left speechless by him, with few daring to name an alternative victor for up and coming Monster Energy Cup Series races. TopBet looks at how these NASCAR pundits are feeling about the race in Richmond this coming weekend.

Expert Picks and Predictions for the Toyota Owners 400 Monster Energy Cup Series Race on April 13 2019

CBS Sports

Expert Pick
CBS Sports Staff Kurt Busch

The easiest and most reasonable pick for the Richmond Raceway race this weekend is Kyle Busch, who has been sensational this season. But for SportsLine, by way of CBS Sports, its model is very optimistic on the chances of another Busch – Kurt Busch. While Busch hasn’t finished better than 11th in his last two appearances in Richmond, he is seemingly getting his groove of late, having finished ninth in Texas two weeks ago and followed that up with a runner-up finish in Bristol last Sunday. He now has six finishes inside the top 10 in eight starts this season. He also won two races in 36 career starts in Richmond, including a victory in the 2015 edition of the Toyota Owners 400.

Sports Chat Place

Expert Pick
Randy Chambers Kyle Busch

Randy Chambers of Sports Chat Place sounds like he’s starting to get tired of mentioning Kyle Busch’s name over and over again, as he has Busch again against his top selection to win the 2019 Toyota Owners 400. But who can blame Chambers? Busch has been nothing short of dominant this season. He has 27 more points in the NASCAR Cup standings than any driver, thanks in large part to his three wins in eight starts this season. He is coming off a successful trip to Bristol, where he notched another victory, bouncing back from 10th place finish in Texas, which, based on the lofty standards he’s set this season, looked like a letdown by comparison. Kyle Busch has six wins in 27 races at the Richmond Raceway, including last year’s  stagings of the Federated Auto Parts 400 and the Toyota Owners 400.

Sporting News

Expert Pick
Thomas Lott Kyle Busch

Thomas Lott just can’t help it but say Kyle Busch has a terrific chances to punctuate another week with a win. Busch simply has shown enough to warrant the amount of confidence from fans and experts alike in him in almost every Cup-series race this season.  As mentioned by Lott, Busch has placed inside the top 10 in six of his seven most recent starts, a stretch that also saw him win it all in Phoenix, California, and Bristol. Lott said that the race in Bristol is for the Team Joe Gibbs racer to lose, and it’s hard to say otherwise at this point.

TopBet Writer – Ryan Simpson

Expert Pick
Ryan Simpson Kyle Busch

Like most other experts, Ryan Simpson of TopBet is going for Kyle Busch. He is driving like he’s Michael Jordan in the 1996 NBA Finals – and that’s not even an exaggeration. Busch truly is on just a different and higher level than the rest, as he’s been locked on. He had a minor slip with a 10th place finish in Texas two weeks ago, but any concerns generated by that relatively disappointing finish was immediately extinguished when Busch topped the race in Bristol last Sunday. You can read Simpson’s full preview of the Toyota Owners 400 race here.
