Betting on the UCLA Bruins:
After a bitter 38-33 loss to Arizona State, which saw their chances for a trip to Pasadena in January for the Rose Bowl slip away, the Bruins will now gun for a seat at another Bowl Game when they take on rivals the USC Trojans in their last game of the regular season. [sc:NCAA240banner ]
The Bruins wheeled off five straight wins to open their season, with Nebraska (#23) being the only ranked team they beat during that stretch. Once they ran into higher ranked teams in Stanford and Oregon, they simply withered, losing back-to-back games against the Cardinal (24-10) and Ducks (42-14).
Despite the loss to the Sun Devils last week, running back Myles Jack continued to impress, rushing for 86 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown to bring his total to six TDs in three games.
UCLA is 5-0 UNDER in their last five road games.
Betting on the USC Trojans:
Everything has gone better for the Trojans after their program fired embattled coach Lane Kiffin last October. Since replacing Kiffin with Ed Orgeron as interim head coach, the Trojans have gone 6-1 SU. [sc:NCAA240banner ]
They can close out their regular season with one more win – and perhaps one more reason for the school to scrape off the interim label from Orgeron’s coaching title.
Orgeron’s campaign to remain as USC’s coach next season got a big boost when he steered the Trojans to a major 20-17 upset win over #4 Stanford last November 16. It was a devastating loss for the Cardinal, who got their path to a possible BCS appearance completely blocked in the process.
The Trojans are fresh off a 47-29 blowout win over Colorado. Javorius Allen rushed for a career-best 143 yards and three touchdowns while Cody Kessler threw for 184 yards and a pair of TDs to lead USC to the win.
USC is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in its last five home games.
