More action in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series will be coming our way this week, as drivers and their teams all head to Avondale, Arizona for the staging of the 2023 United Rentals Work United 500. In this piece, we will take a look at some of the big hitters, some sleepers, and a long shot, who could shock the rest of the field with a stunning performance from out of nowhere.
The Team Penske drive got DVP’d last Sunday at the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube, thus snapping his two-race streak of top-10 finishes this season. But Logano is always a threat, and he will be again this coming weekend at Phoenix Raceway, where he has three wins in 28 starts, including his 2022’s victory there in a race during last year’s playoffs. Logano also has eight top 5s and 16 top 10s at Phoenix Raceway.
After finishing 13th in Las Vegas last Sunday, Blaney will continue his search for his first win of the season this coming weekend at Phoenix Raceway, where he also remains winless to date. However, he has five top 5s there and nine top 10s in 14 starts total. Blaney has not finished worse than fourth in any of his last three appearances at Phoenix Raceway, dating back to 2021.
Coming off a runner-up finish in Las Vegas, Larson will be so eager to nab his first win this year when he hits the road again on Sunday. In 17 starts at Phoenix Raceway, Larson has collected six top 5s and 10 top 10s, including a win there during there in 2021.

After getting his first top 10 of the season with a seventh place at the 2023 Pala Casino 400, Keselowski regressed last Sunday, as he finished 17th at the 2023 Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube. But racing at Phoenix Raceway this coming weekend offers some hope for him to get back up. Keselowski has a total of eight top 5s and 13 top 10s in 27 career starts at Phoenix Raceway.

Carrying odds of +4000 to win this coming Sunday, Almirola does seem to be a good value pick for the 2023 United Rentals Work United 500 race. Although he has yet to crack a top 10 or even a top 15 this season, Almirola has a pair of top 5s and seven top 10s in 24 starts at Phoenix Raceway. He finished no worse than 13th in five of his last six starts there, including a sixth place during a playoff race in 2021.
The Front Row Motorsports driver has appeared in only two races at Phoenix Raceway so far in his career, finishing 19th and 29th in his first two starts there, respectively (both in 2022).
