Golf Digest

Expert Pick
Steve Hennessey Jordan Spieth
Christopher Powers Chris Kirk

Jordan Spieth is having some sort of a resurgence this season. Although Spieth hasn’t won a start so far this season, the Texas native has had nice finishes. His best this season to date was a T3 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am plus he’s got a couple of T4s at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard and at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Meanwhile, Kirk seems like a fantastic sneak play. Kirk has two top 10s in 12 starts. He finished tied for second at the Sony Open in Hawaii and has a couple of T8s in the past at TPC San Antonio.

Expert Golfer to watch out for
SportsLine Abraham Ancer

SportsLine seems to be high on Ancer, who is priced at +1800 to win this weekend at TPC San Antonio. Ancer played in the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play last week and finished with a T18. He’s made the cut in all but two events he’s started this season to date and finished inside the top 10 twice. Ancer is also second this season in terms of driving accuracy percentage with a 72.56% clip.

Expert No. 1 ranked player
Rob Bolton Jordan Spieth

Rob Bolton of PGA.com is another believer of Spieth, who will arrive at TPC San Antonio with some momentum, having finished with a T9 at the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play. As mentioned by Bolton, Spieth is also 4 of 5 in his career at TPC San Antonio and finished second there during the 2015 Valero Texas Open.

Expert Pick
Ryan Simpson, News Editor Tony Finau

TB News editor Ryan Simpson is going another way by picking Tony Finau to win the 2021 Valero Texas Open. Here’s what he had to say about Finau in our preview of the tournament:

“Finau is still searching for his first win of the season, but he’s come close to getting that — at least three times already. He had a solo second-place finish at the Genesis Invitational, a T2 at the Farmers Insurance Open, and a solo fourth-place at the American Express. In three starts at TPC San Antonio, Finau has had a couple of sub-60 finishes but was a solo third back in the 2017 edition of the Valero Texas Open.”
