How To Watch the 2016 Kentucky Derby
On Television
NBC is the exclusive television rights holder of all three Triple Crown races, beginning with the Kentucky Derby. And since it’ll be on free TV, there shouldn’t be too many problems for anyone who wants to tune in to the big race. Coverage for the Kentucky Derby at NBC begins at 4 PM ET on Saturday, May 7, and the actual race is at 6:30 PM ET.
But for avid race fans who are looking for extended coverage on Derby day and just happen to be cable subscribers of NBC Sports Network, then tune in there for their coverage of the pre-Derby prep races from 12-4 PM ET.
Via Live Streaming
But what if you’re out of the house and there’s no TV in sight? Well, if you’re a subscriber of NBCSN, you’re in luck since you can also avail of NBC’s live streaming service. For PC and laptop users, just log in to the NBC Sports Live Extra website or the NBC Sports Live Extra app on their mobile devices (available on iTunes App Store, Google Play, etc.) NBC Sports Live Extra will stream the broadcasts of both NBCSN and NBC from 12-7 PM ET.
