Arnold Palmer Invitational Betting Preview and Predictions

Where: Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Florida

When: March 19-22, 2015

Favorites – Rory McIlroy

[sc:Golf240banner ]Rory McIlroy hasn’t looked like the world beater that he was last year when he won two Grand Slams. McIlroy missed the cut at the Honda Classic and finished tied for ninth at the WGC Cadillac Championship to start off his 2015 campaign. But don’t sleep on McIlroy because he thrives under these circumstances.

McIlroy was unimpressive in back-to-back tournaments (the Memorial Tournament and the U.S. Open) in 2014 before exploding to win three consecutive titles in the British Open, WGC Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA Championship in under a month.

Sleepers – Jason Day and Keegan Bradley

There’s no golfer entering this year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational hotter than Jason Day. He’s made all six cuts in tournaments he’s played in this year. Day also has four top-five finishes, including his win at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Keegan Bradley

Keegan Bradley used a late surge in his bid to win last year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. Yet, he finished just one shot short of eventual champion Matt Every’s 13-under par 275. Bradley had a grand chance to win the tournament if not for bogeys on the final two holes that sealed the win for Every.

Bradley seems on-point heading into this year’s tournament. He’s made all but one cut in eight events this season, including two top five finishes.

Long Shots – Brendan Steele and Jason Kokrak

Brendan Steele has not had his best performances at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He’s missed the cut twice in his past three tries, but showed some promise last year, finishing 20th with a four-under 284. On tour in 2014, he finished 67th in scrambling, 45th in ball striking and has a 299 yard drive. He’s looking sharp heading into this tournament with four top 25 finishes thus far in the season.

Another dark horse to win the tournament is Jason Kokrak. Like Steele, he’s shown improvement last year. He finished 59th in scrambling, 73rd in ball striking and tees off for 303 yards. Kokrak has the added advantage of being familiar at Bay Hill. He finished fourth at last year’s tournament with a 10-under par 278. If there’s a man who could steal some thunder away from the big name’s it’s Kokrak.
