Betting on the MLS All-Stars
A host of stars make the likes of high-profile designated players Kaka, David Villa and Sebastian Giovinco join U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) staples such as Michael Bradley, Matt Besler and DaMarcus Beasley to create the MLS All-Stars. Considering the names that make up the MLS All-Star roster, one could already assume a wicked night of soccer action.
[sc:Soccer240banner ]Of all the All-Stars, none may give better contributions than ex-Tottenham players Clint Dempsey of the Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles Galaxy’s Robbie Keane. The Galaxy captain was one of the most prolific forwards in Tottenham history with 122 goals in all competitions, good for 10th on the English club’s all-time goals list. Dempsey spent less time with Hotspur, scoring seven goals in 29 appearances in one season in the English Premier League.
Dempsey and Keane should be a handful in the frontline, so what more with midfielders Kaka and Giovinco setting them up for excellent scoring opportunities. Giovinco has the second-most assists in the league this season with 10. The All-Stars have plenty more talent to work with on the attack with Kei Kamara leading the league with 15 goals this season, while Steven Gerrard helps solidify the midfield.
Sleep on the MLS All-Stars all you wish. They’re 4-2-1 in their last six matches against English opposition, having faced the likes of Chelsea, Everton, Manchester United, West Ham and Fulham in past All-Star Games.
Betting on Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur have been relatively quiet before the start of the English Premier league. Spurs will play their first big preseason game against the MLS All-Stars. They’re bringing along some big-time talent in playmaker Christian Eriksen, goalkeeping captain Hugo Lloris and star striker Harry Kane. Most of Tottenham’s game will flow around these three key players.
All eyes will be on visiting 21-year-old wunderkind Harry Kane. The stellar Spurs striker made his first-team debut at just 18 years of age. He has now scored 22 goals across 39 matches in the English Premier League. Eriksen also lends a hot boot to Tottenham by racking up 17 goals and 10 assists in two seasons in the Premier League.
Spurs have an American to help guide them in their trip to the United States in USMNT defender DeAndre Yedlin. He should be well-versed in keeping the MLS All-Star and fellow national teammate Dempsey in check.
Tottenham have won two of three club friendlies heading into this match.
