Betting on the Vegas Golden Knights (+1.5)
Regular Season Record: 65-12-5
The Golden Knights are just a win away from making it to the franchise’s second Stanley Cup Finals appearance after dismantling Dallas on the road on Tuesday, 4-0. Goalie Adin Hill was incredible in Game 3 between the pipes for the Golden Knights, as he stopped all 34 shots from Dallas. He also had four saves on shorthanded situations. Vegas will look to ride the hot hands of its offense as well in Game 4. Jonathan Marchessault, Chandler Stephenson, and William Karlsson lead the Golden Knights in the playoffs with seven goals apiece.
The Golden Knights are 47-19 in their last 66 games after just a day for rest. They are also 36-15 in their last 51 Thursday games.
Betting on the Dallas Stars (-1.5)
Regular Season Record: 47-21-14
It’s win or go home from this point forward for the Stars in the Western Conference Finals in the NHL. If it weren’t for Hill’s fantastic performance in Game 3, the Stars probably would have finally gotten into the win column in this series, as they completely outshot Vegas, 34-16. But the Stars will also have to play with more discipline even with their level of desperation. They accrued eight penalties in Game 3 which resulted in six power-play chances for the Golden Knights.
The Stars are 5-0 in their last five games after allowing at least three goals ina prior contest. They are also 9-3 in their last 12 games as the home team.
Writer’s Prediction
The Stars win, 3-2.
