2015 NFL Week 2 Fantasy Sleepers

Donte Moncrief – Wide Receiver, Indianapolis Colts

[sc:NFL240banner ]The Indianapolis Colts’ No.1 option at the wide receiver position is going to be out for a few weeks, as T.Y. Hilton was forced to depart Sunday’s matchup with the Buffalo Bills due to a serious left knee injury. For Colts’ fans, this is definitely going to be huge blow to their beloved team; however, there is a bright side to this situation. And that bright side goes by the name of Donte Moncrief.

Moncrief’s fantasy value rose significantly as he now has a big opportunity to show the world what he can really do, while Hilton remains sidelined. The 22-year-old Ole Miss product played sparingly in his rookie year but looked much improved in last week’s contest, catching six passes for a total of 46 yard with a touchdown. Moncrief is bound to keep this up with arguably the best QB in the NFL, Andrew Luck, looking for him behind the center.

Bishop Sankey – Running back, Tennessee Titans

Bishop Sankey

Bishop Sankey just reminded everyone that he’s way better than he was last year. He proved this with an incredible season-opening performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, finishing with 74 yards with a touchdown on two carries for the eventual Tennessee Titans’ victory. Sankey is certainly in a much better spot in the much improved offense of Titans, who made a huge quarterback upgrade in Marcus Mariotta.

That said, another impressive Week 2 showing from Sankey won’t be a long shot, especially with rookie running back David Cobb still nursing a calf injury. He will again receive more than enough playing time in getting his touches on offense and provide his team a huge impact yet again.

Ladarius Green – Tight End, San Diego Chargers

With Antonio Gates not going to be able to take field until Week 5 of the 2015 season, every fantasy owners ought to make a strong a bid in picking up Ladarius Green.

Green really took advantage of Gates’ absence with an impressive season debut for the San Diego Chargers, who beat the Detroit Lions, 33-28, to kick off their year on a good note. The 25-year-old tight end posted one of the best games of his career that day, as he had five receptions on six targets for 74 yards and a touchdown. Expect Green to continue having solid numbers for as long as he remains to be the No. 1 option at his position.

Nick Foles – Quarterback, St. Louis Rams

Nick Foles

If you’re looking for a dependable second option at the quarterback position, the St. Louis Rams’ Nick Foles is worth taking a chance on.

Foles surprised many by leading the Rams to a huge 34-31 win over the Seattle Seahawks in their season opener last week. He did well against Seattle’s formidable defense by completing 18-of-27 passes for 297 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing four times for 11 yards. And other than just numbers, he provided his team and St. Louis fans the toughness that they’ve been searching for in the quarterback position. Foles is on track for another efficient outing with running back Tre Mason expected to return against the Washington Redskins in Week 2.

Josh Brown – Kicker, New York Giants

The New York Giants’ Josh Brown just got the attention of many fantasy owners, who are looking for some quality production in their team’s kicker position. Brown proved he can do just that with his efforts on Sunday versus the Dallas Cowboys, during which he made all four of his field goal attempts, which included a 50-yarder.  A performance this could likely come again in Week 2 against an Atlanta Falcons’ defense that allowed a league-high of 398.2 total yards in 2014.

San Francisco 49ers Defense

Despite a number of new faces, the San Francisco 49ers’ defense proved to be pretty impressive in their Week 1 clash with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. QB Teddy Bridgewater was completely smothered and confused by the front seven. The Niners notched five sacks and ultimately limited the Vikings to just three points by the end of the game. They’ll look to do the same thing to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who will still be missing Le’Veon Bell and Martavis Bryant due to suspension, in their Week 2 showdown.
