Novak Djokovic (-150)

Wimbledon-2016_250x130

Novak Djokovic is the man to beat at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships, and there’s plenty of good reasons as to why. First, the world No. 1 won the first two Grand Slams of the year, looking absolutely phenomenal. Second, he has won back-to-back Wimbledon Championships heading into this year’s. It’s going to take a lot to beat Djoker, especially with his all-court style and aggressive baseline play melding perfectly on the grass court.

Andy Murray (+300)

Former world No. 1 John McEnroe believes that Wimbledon is Andy Murray’s best chance to best Novak Djokovic. Murray has already lost two Grand Slam finals appearances against Djokovic, but could hold his own at Wimbledon. The Brit will play separate halves in the tournament, making another finals meeting a possibility.

Murray is playing great, but he’ll definitely put himself on another level at Wimbledon. He’s playing in his best surface—grass—and will also have the advantage of playing at home. The British No. 1 last won at the All England Club in 2012, when he won the gold medal in the Summer Olympics.

Roger Federer (+600)

Roger Federer didn’t have a very successful return back to competition. He made a surprise exit in the semifinal of the Gerry Weber Open—a tournament he had won three straight in 2013-2015—falling to Mischa Zverev in three sets. It remains to be seen if Federer can be as dominant as he was before suffering a back injury. Nevertheless, at his best the Swiss legend can go toe-to-toe with the best players in the world, including Novak Djokovic.

Sleeper

Nick Kyrgios (+2,000)

Nick Kyrgios isn’t having the best of results so far, making early round of 32 exits at Roland Garros and the Aegon Championships in back-to-back tournaments. Nevertheless, he seems pretty confident heading into the All England Club as the 15th seed of the Wimbledon Championships. The Aussie made a quarterfinal appearance in his tournament debut in 2014 and a fourth-round showing last year. Kyrgios is a good sleeper to shake things up in this tournament.

Long Shot

David Ferrer (+10,000)

David Ferrer has been pretty bad on grass recently, losing to Gilles Muller in the quarterfinal of the Ricoh Open and in the round of 32 of the Gerry Weber Open against Andreas Seppi. However, he’s still one of the best tennis players in the world to never win a Grand Slam title. The Spaniard is athletic and has an aggressive baseline play to force movement from his opponents. Having him playing on the fast surface of grass should help him set up plenty of winners.

Writer’s Prediction

Murray (+300) topples Djokovic in a five-set thriller in the Wimbledon final.
