Unsurprisingly, the big names like Kevin Harvick and Jimmie Johnson are considered the top favorites to win the 2016 Hollywood Casino 400 this weekend, according to the odds. But there are a bunch of other very good contenders who people might be sleeping on. Let’s take a look at three such sleepers and assess their chances of winning in Kansas.

2016 Hollywood Casino 400 Sleeper Picks

Carl Edwards (+1,000)

Apart from a pole position start and 6th place finish in New Hampshire, Carl Edwards has not had a great Chase thus far. He’s finished 15th, 14th and 12th in the other three races. However, look for him to fare a bit better in Kansas.

Edwards has yet to record a win at the track, but he has frequently been right in the mix. He’s finished in the top 10 in 12 of his 18 starts. Edwards has also had a lot of success on intermediate tracks. He owns two wins since 2014 on those tracks.

Matt Kenseth (+1,000)

Kenseth is creeping closer toward a third win this season. The No. 20 driver has arguably been the best driver during the Chase, finishing 2nd, 5th and 2nd in his last three races. Kenseth needs another top 10 finish to further solidify his spot in the next round, but look for him to continue searching for victory.

That elusive win could finally come in Kansas, where Kenseth owns two wins in his career. He has also finished inside the top 15 in his last 12 starts at the track. That includes a 4th-place finish in May’s GoBowling 400.

Brad Keselowski (+1,000)

Keselowski’s team did him no favors in Charlotte, but Brad overcame those issues and still emerged with a 7th-place finish last week. That snapped his terrific run of four-consecutive top-five finishes. But don’t sleep on Brad starting a brand new streak in Kansas.

Keselowski has finished in the top 10 seven times in 13 starts in Kansas, with one win in 2011. He’s also started 6th or higher in his last six starts at the track, including pole in last year’s Hollywood Casino 400. At some point, you’d figure that he’ll finally turn one of those good starts into victory.
