Daniel Summerhays (+2,000)

One golfer who can definitely make a run at the title this week is Daniel Summerhays. The American came so close to nabbing his first major title at Baltusrol last month, losing by just four shots to PGA champion Jimmy Walker. Horschel has been playing some excellent golf of late, finishing in the top-25 in four of his last six starts. Key to Summerhays’ resurgence has been his outstanding play with the putter. He is eighth in the PGA Tour in strokes gained in that particular department with a solid .637 clip. That will be a crucial weapon for Summerhays when navigating the delicate greens of this tough TPC Deere Run course.

John Senden (+5,000)

Looking for a worthy sleeper this week? How about John Senden? Yes, it has been two years since Senden last won on the PGA Tour, but he has an excellent chance of ending that barren run this week at the John Deere Classic. The Australian loves playing in this event as evidenced by his tournament win here in 2006. He has also posted some nice results at the John Deere Classic since that victory, tying for 12th in 2010 and notching a fourth-place finish back in 2012.

If that wasn’t enough, Senden is starting to rediscover the form that made him one of the best golfers in the world before. He has found the top 25 in two of his last three starts, including a T18 at last month’s PGA Championship. With the form that he is in right now and his experience with this TPC Deere Run course, expect Senden to post some red numbers and contend for the title once again this week.

Gary Woodland (+2,200)

Another golfer who can definitely surprise this week is Gary Woodland. The 32-year-old has been playing some solid golf of late, notching eight top-25 finishes in his last 11 starts. He finished tied for 38th in the recently-concluded Travelers Championship. While Woodland doesn’t have a lot of experience on this course, he did finish in the top 50 in the 2013 John Deere Classic, his only appearance in this event. That will give Woodland the confidence to perform strongly at TPC Deere Run this week.
