With the Coca-Cola 600 in the books, NASCAR now takes its season back to infamous Pocono Speedway in Pennsylvania for another installment of the Axalta “We Paint Winners” 400.
While there’s no question that the Coca-Cola 600’s prize purse is much more extravagant compared to most other races in any given season, drivers are still in line for a huge payday this weekend if they can conquer the Tricky Triangle’s ins and outs. Let’s find out how much money is in store for our favorite NASCAR standouts below.
Afterwards, head on over to our complete preview of the Axalta 400 itself to start placing stakes on Sunday’s action yourself and hopefully win big bucks just like these famed speedsters.

2016 Axalta “We Paint Winners” 400 Prize Money Breakdown
If you’ve tuned in to last week’s coverage on the total prize purse for the Coca-Cola 600, then you probably would also recall that we mentioned something about NASCAR deciding to stop releasing information about their prize-money distribution beginning this 2016 season.Nevertheless, we’ve still taken a look back at 2015’s results for this week’s event to have an idea about what’s possibly on the horizon this 2016 and found some interesting results. The Axalta 400 was actually the race that had the third-lowest payout amount for its winner in the previous campaign, ahead of only the STP 500 and the Quicken Loans 400. Nevertheless (and unlike those two races we just mentioned), the Axalta 400 still managed to hand out over $200,000 to the 2015 winner, Martin Truex Jr.
Then again, NASCAR’s prize distribution process is rather complicated to say the least, so those few dollars coming from sponsorship deals and whatnot may have factored into Truex’s relatively meager winnings last year. But hey, every driver took home no less than 60 Gs in earnings last year at Pocono. That’s still a significant amount of dough, wouldn’t you say?
