If one spectacular race from Charlotte Motor Speedway from last weekend was enough, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is happy to oblige with another stellar event at CMS this week, this time with another installment of the Coca-Cola 600.
The winner of this past Sunday’s Sprint All-Star Race, Joey Logano, just took home a cool million dollars. What’s in store for this week’s top dog and the rest of the field? Let’s find out more below. And for an in-depth look at the race itself for some sweet betting opportunities, head on over to our complete preview for the Coca-Cola 600 right after this.

2016 Coca-Cola 600 Prize Money Breakdown
On a rather unfortunate note, NASCAR has decided to stop releasing information about their races’ total purse and individual winnings beginning this 2016 season. Nonetheless, we can still look back at the previous year’s results as basis for how much each driver will possibly earn in a particular event. In general, the Coca-Cola 600 has one of NASCAR’s largest purses annually, which is all but expected from the race’s lavish sponsor. As matter of fact, arguably the world’s leading beverage manufacturer had two of NASCAR’s top six highest-priced races in 2014: the Coke Zero 400 ($6.3 million on estimate) and the Coca-Cola 600 itself ($6.6 million). Last year, Coke’s crowned jewel of an event at CMS had a sizeable purse worth exactly $6,660,558, which was right on-par with 2014’s estimated total payout.
Carl Edwards won last year’s Coca-Cola 600 and was rewarded with about five percent of the total prize pool for his efforts, and we should probably expect virtually the same payout ratio for the winner of this week’s race. There’s no need for us to get into specifics as for why certain drivers earn more than others in spite of a worse finish at a particular race (we have NASCAR’s inexplicably complex payout scheme to thank for that), so just feel free to go over our full listing below for 2015’s Coca-Cola 600 participants and their corresponding winnings from the event instead.
