2016 NFL Draft Props – Prospect Over/Under Bets
The NFL Draft is filled with talent this year. Much like the combine though, we’re going to attempt to separate the contenders from the pretenders. A lot of the NCAA top prospects remain highly touted but it seems the longer we wait, the more reports surface about them falling lower on the board. Joey Bosa is a prime example, along with Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg.
All stats, combine numbers and written tests aside though, let’s take a look at our latest player props.
North Dakota State Quarterback Carson Wentz – Pick #2.5
The North Dakota State Bison quarterback has been called the most NFL-ready pivot on more than one occasion. At 6’5 and 237 pounds, he’s an absolute beast in the pocket and has shown great confidence under pressure. He missed eight games in his final NCAA season, but was still able to post over 1,600 yards and 17 touchdowns. His stock is very high and the Cleveland Browns are heavily scouting quarterbacks with their second overall selection.
Will he fall lower in the draft or will he go to Cleveland?
In other words, do you think he’ll go Over or Under pick #2.5?
Ohio State Defensive End Joey Bosa – Pick #4.5
Joey Bosa is a premiere talent and nobody knows that better than Joey Bosa. Time and time again he has said that he is the “best player in the draft.” He may be right too. Considering there’s really only two big name DE’s in himself and Oregon’s DeForest Buckner. In a league starved for d-line talent, he may be shaking Roger Goodell’s hand sooner rather than later.
Bosa is a 6’4, 259 pound animal. He ran a 4.86 in the 40-yard dash and posted a broad jump of 120.0 inches (aka 10 feet)! He’s a powerful kid and considering the Titans, Browns, Chargers and Cowboys are each dying for defensive line help, Bosa’s high draft stock may be an absolute lock.
Will he go Over or Under pick #4.5?
California Quarterback Jared Goff – Pick #7.5
Along with Carson Wentz, the other QB name high on everyone’s list is California standout Jared Goff. The former Golden Bear had a solid combine and could be a sure thing for the San Francisco 49ers with the seventh overall pick. They’ve past on two California-born quarterbacks over the past two decades in Aaron Rodgers (former Golden Bear) and Tom Brady, and each time they’ve regretted it beyond belief.
Should Colin Kaepernick stick around, he’ll need some competition. Goff could provide the fire needed and-or even be the next starter should Kap’s situation change.
Will he go Over or Under pick #7.5?
Ohio State Running Back Ezekiel Elliott – Pick #8.5
Along with Alabama’s Derrick Henry, Ezekiel Elliott is easily the most well-known running back in the 2016 draft. He had a tremendous collegiate career winning both the Sugar Bowl and National Championship MVP in 2015, along with the National Championship that same year as well, of course.
Elliott’s stock is high because teams in the top ten need a running game. The Titans, Browns, Cowboys, Jaguars, Ravens, Eagles and Giants are all in the mix for the former Buckeye back. So the odds are certainly in his favor to go early in the night to a high pick team.
Will he go Over or Under pick #8.5?
Ole Miss Wide Receiver Laquon Treadwell – Pick #15.5
NFL.com has Treadwell reviewed as an all-American, five-star recruit, who also just so happens to be the top wide out prospect in the draft. He has absolutely everything going for him, including lankiness. Yes, lankiness. At 6’2 he is an above-average sized WR, but his arm length is what draws him apart from the rest. His 33 3/8 inch arms are mouth watering for scouts everywhere.
Of all the top 15 teams, there isn’t a single squad on the list that wouldn’t like to get their hands on the next Odell Beckham Jr. Treadwell’s stock is high and his mock positioning looks promising.
