The Total Payout
There is money to be made here at Sea Island. The RSM Classic boasts a total purse of $6 million, with a hefty $1.08 million of that pot going to the eventual champion. That’s excellent news for this week’s field considering the total payout last year amounted to only $5.7 million.
To put into perspective the difference in prize money, defending champion Kevin Kisner pocketed $1,026,000 in cash winnings last year. That’s $54,000 less than the amount the RSM Classic champion will receive this year. Finishing second in this tournament ain’t bad either with the runner-up receiving a cash payout of $648,000. On the other end of the table, the 70th or so golfer to make the cut this week will earn around $12,000.
