With a fourth-straight Ryder Cup victory on the line, the Europeans enter this week’s tournament at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota with international match-play dominance on their side. However, the Americans will counter with what appears to be a more well-rounded lineup of golfers and great motivation to end their dismal streak at the prestigious biennial tournament.

Exactly how do the experts from around the internet see this week’s event to pan out? Let’s find out below. And for our very own analysis and prediction for the 2016 Ryder Cup, head on over here.

SB Nation

Expert Winner
Brendan Porath Team Europe
Emily Kay Team Europe
Trevor Reaske Team USA
Kyle Robbins Team Europe

The majority of SB Nation’s four-man panel of golf analysts sided with Team Europe and not with its stateside troops. Brendan Porath, Emily Kay and Kyle Robbins all have sound reasons to be pessimistic about a Team USA win, with the main cause for another letdown being the weight of the pressure surrounding the team to finally snap out of its Ryder Cup funk.

Porath, in particular, highlighted that no American golfer is entering Hazeltine is great form apart from Dustin Johnson, who has a major-title victory (U.S. Open) and another win (at the BMW Championship just last September 11) this 2016. With a handful of U.S.-based experts siding with the boys across the Atlantic, Team Europe’s +175 odds as an underdog to win the Ryder Cup for the fourth-straight time doesn’t seem like a far-fetched proposition after all.

Sporting Life

Expert Winner
Ben Coley Team USA

Over at Sporting Life, Ben Coley went into great detail as for why he believes the Americans will get over that dreaded Ryder Cup hump after eight long years of wait. Coley argues that despite the United States’ disappointing finishes in the last three installments of the tournament, each of the European golfers – outside of 2016 TOUR Championship winner, Rory McIlroy – have found little to no success individually on the PGA Tour this season.

Team USA has depth in talent and experience heading into Minnesota, which would explain why it’s rightfully priced at -185 to win and end its futility at the Ryder Cup this year.

Français Express

Expert Winner
Alec Brzezinski Team USA

In another ironic twist, France-based publication the Français Express sees the Americans emerging victorious this year given how Team Europe’s lineup looks.

As mentioned by Alec Brzezinski, the Europeans will have six rookies play for the team on American soil. Basically all of those youngsters have little to no experience playing on PGA Tour courses like Hazeltine, which are longer in length and have trickier greens than the links-style courses on the European Tour.

Furthermore, Brzezinski believes that this year’s U.S. team is has a more united vibe compared to 2014’s disastrous run (we’re looking at you, Tom Watson!), and that intangible factor gives the psychological edge in favor of the Americans even before the players tee off on Friday.
