Bernard Tomic (+5,000)

Tomic hasn’t capitalized playing in front of his fellow countrymen. He’s failed to move past the fourth round in the last two years in Melbourne. But the 24-year-old Australian looks primed for a promising finish this time around. He quickly disposed of his opening-round opponent, Thomaz Belluci, in straight sets (6-2, 6-1, 6-4), which surely silenced recent doubts about his physical state.

Gael Monfils (+7,500)

Monfils made it all the way to the quarterfinals last year here. That was, so far, his best finish at the Australian Open. The World No. 6 then registered his best Grand Slam run with a semifinal appearance at the US Open. That said, watch out for Monfils to keep up that trend and potentially inch closer to his first-ever Grand Slam title.

Lucas Pouille (+7,500)

Pouille had his best run in 2016 — a breakout year highlighted by a pair of quarterfinal entries at Wimbledon and US Open. He also brought home his first ATP title back in Metz, during which the 22-year-old rising Frenchman bested David Goffin and Dominic Thiem in the final two rounds. Pouille has yet to advance beyond the opening round of the Australian Open, but that should change really soon.
