Senior Investment
It’s not Bernie Madoff here who’s pitching Senior Investment as a tasty sleeper pick so take time to hear us out. First, Senior Investment’s +450 odds to take home the cake at Belmont Park this Saturday doesn’t tell you why it’s a sleeper. We branded it a sleeper because of its inconsistency. It had sixth and seventh place finishes in the past while also getting three wins overall. Sound Investment hit the board in its last two races, a win in Lexington and a third-place finish in the Preakness. A drop in form is a real possibility for Senior Investment but it’s still worth a look.
Twisted Tom
Trainer Chad Brown is pinning his Belmont Stakes hopes solely on Twisted Tom (+1,800) after it was announced that Preakness winner Cloud Computing won’t be breaking out of the gates in Elmont this weekend. Twisted Tom is on a hot streak, having won all of its last three races, though against lesser competition; all three races were non-graded stakes. Twisted Tom also has some serious lineage. And about that, Bloodhorse.com writer Steve Haskin has this tasty trivia for sleeper hunters to sink their teeth in.
Twisted Tom's dam is by a Belmont winner; 2nd dam is by a Belmont winner; 3rd dam is by a Belmont winner; 4th dam is by sire of a Bel winner

Meantime
Meantime (+1,800) only has one Graded Stakes race but it impressed in that one, finishing second in the Peter Pan event last May. There have been five horses that had won the Peter Pan race and reigned supreme in the Belmont Stakes and while Meantime didn’t win the Peter Pan contest, his runner-up performance there still bodes its chances this Saturday well. After all, both races are annually held at the same track. Meantime would be jockeyed by Mike Smith, who is a two-time Belmont Stakes winner (Drosselmeyer in 2010 and Palace Malice in 2013.).
