Top Picks and Parlays for the 2017 Masters

Jon Rahm (-105) over Justin Rose (-125)

Rahm is playing fantastic golf in his first year as a pro that he’s actually viewed by some folks as a legitimate threat to win the Masters in his rookie season—something that hasn’t been done since Fuzzy Zoeller did it in 1979. Out of the 10 events he’s played on the Tour, Rahm has collected a win (Farmers Insurance Open) and four other finishes inside the top 10. He’s made the cut in all 10 tournaments thus far this season. Like Rahm, Rose is playing some great golf of late. He is coming off a T15 finish in the Shell Houston Open and a T13 in the previous Arnold Palmer Invitational. Rose came close to wearing the Green Jacket when he finished second in the 2015 edition of The Masters.

Hideki Matsuyama (+140) over Rory Mcilroy (-170)

No Japanese has ever won a major. Matsuyama is looking to write history this week when he treks to Augusta in hopes of winning the 2017 Masters. Matsuyama started the season like a house on fire with a pair of wins and a couple of runner-up finishes in the first five events he participated in. Matsuyama has seemingly fallen back to Earth recently, as he has failed to finish better than a T25 in any of his last four starts. Still, Matsuyama looks like a good value pick at The Masters, considering that he’s finished fifth and seventh in Augusta in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

As for McIlroy, he’s chasing the elusive Masters title that is the only one missing for him to complete a career Grand Slam. McIlroy, who is coming off a T30 in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, has finished with a T10 or better in each of the last three editions of The Masters. McIlroy only has three events played in this year, as he got sidelined by a rib injury he suffered back in January.
