Calm yourselves. We understand your excitement for the upcoming Masters Tournament, but there’s one more event to be played before we all direct our attention to Augusta: the 2017 Shell Houston Open. The big guns are going to be in the Lone Star State this weekend looking to polish their games in preparation for the Masters, but plenty of less-heralded players are also going to be there eyeing a victory.

Bernd Wiesberger (+6,000)
Bernd who? Exactly. This Australian pro has little grip on casual fans’ consciousness because he rarely plays in America, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be paying attention to Wiesberger. The 11-year pro has played in just three PGA Tour events this season but finished with a pair of T17’s, a T35 and a T45. Not too shabby. Including events he’s played in outside of the United States, Wiesberger has finished in the top seven or better in eight of his last 13 starts overall. You could be reaping a rich sum off this dude in Houston, where he had a T27 last year.
Jhonattan Vegas (+6,000)
Don’t you just feel tempted to lay money on a guy who walks around with a name like Jhonattan Vegas? Vegas, however, is more than just a player worthy of a novelty bet. He is an undervalued contender that is riding on quite a momentum, having made the cut in all of his last 11 starts. Furthermore, he’s finished T15 or better in three of his last four PGA Tour events, which includes a T4 at The Honda Classic last February.
Jim Herman (+7,000)
Herman likes Donald Trump. He is friends with Trump. In fact, he was there when Trump was inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States. Those have nothing to do with golf, but those are some interesting trivia we have for Herman. We’re not trying to be political here, so you should rather base your betting decisions on how well Herman has played of late.
After missing the cut three straight times, Herman bounced back and finished with a T27 at The Honda Classic, a T3 at Valspar Championship, and a T45 at Arnold Palmer Invitational last week. Most importantly, he is the defending champion of the Shell Houston Open, a trivia that definitely sounds better than being in cahoots with the current Leader of the Free World.
