FAVORITES

Jon Rahm (+275)

What’s there to say about Rahm? Any event he’s entered his name into, he’s very much likely to be a favorite to win, especially the upcoming 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta since he’s the defending champion of this tournament. He is 10/11 with four wins so far in the 2022-23 PGA TOUR season.

Tony Finau (+800)

Finau has yet to miss a cut since the start of 2023. Overall this season, he is 11/12 with a win, having topped the field at the 2022 Cadence Bank Houston Open. After a T26 a the Masters Tournament 2023, he posted a T31 at the RBC Heritage. He placed second in the 2022 edition of the Mexico Open, thanks to a final-round 63.

Wyndham Clark (+1800)

The 29-year-old Clark has yet to win a tournament this season, but you have to be impressed with the body of work he’s put up of late. Clark is 15/17 overall this season and has finished sixth or better in three of his last four starts, including a third place at the recently concluded 2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS

Andrew Putnam (+4500)

Here’s what we said about Putnam in our 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta sleepers piece.

Putnam has made the cut in each of his last three starts. In his most recent outing, he went T59 at the 2022 RBC Heritage. Prior to that, he had a T9 at 2023 World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play and a T28 at the 202 Valero Texas Open. This season, he is 14/18 with three top 10s, which includes a T2 at the 2022 ZOZO Championship back in October.

Matt Wallace(+6600)

Here’s what we said about Wallace in our 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta sleepers piece.

Wallace has missed the cut in each of his last two starts, so he’s someone not a lot of people are feeling hot about heading into this week’s event in Mexico. However, it was not that long ago when he topped the field at the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship. He also had a T7 prior to that at the 2023 Valspar Championship.

LONG SHOTS

Matthias Schwab (+15000)

Schwab is 11/19 this season but has a couple of top 10s; he finished with a T8 at the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship and recently had a T9 during last week’s 2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Brent Grant (+17500)

Grant is just 6/17 this season with a lone top 10 which was a T8 at the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship.

Writer’s Prediction

Tony Finau wins the 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta.
