Betting Preview for the FIFA World Cup Group G Matches Running from June 18 to 28, 2018
Belgium (-110)
The Red Devils are teeming with talent, which Roberto Martinez should be ecstatic about of having to operate with in Russia. Among the many top-tier players for Belgium are Thomas Vermaelen, Vincent Kompany, Eden Hazard, Moussa Dembele, Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, Thibaut Courtois, Mousa Dembele. That Belgium have Hazard and Lukaku lurking up front and Thibaut Courtois manning the space between the sticks, the Belgians have a lot of reason to feel excited about their chances of making noise and creating huge waves in Russia. Of course, there’s Manchester City’s midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, regarded as the best player on the team, who will look to feed The Red Devil’s hungry strikers.
England (+110)
England have had disappointing runs in at least a couple of past major tournaments. In Brazil in 2014, The Three Lions did not even make it past the group stage. Two years later, England got booted out by Iceland in the round of 16 of the Euro 2016. Still, hopes are high for England, especially with infusion of youth and a new coach in Gareth Southgate. England might have trouble with Belgium but they’re too talented not to expect to get by Panama and Tunisia with ease. This team packs serious firepower with the likes of Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, and Marcus Rashford on the attack, plus they got Leicester City man Jamie Vardy.
Tunisia (+1000)
Tunisia have been absent for 12 years at the World Cup but are ready to show their faces again in the tournament. The Eagles of Carthage are long shots to get out of the group stage, but the existence of Panama in Group G gives them hope that they will at least have a win. Leading the squad are the pair of 31-year-old striker Saber Khalifa and Wahbi Khazri, who played the last season on load with Rennes, where he scored nine goals in only 17 matches. He also has 12 goals in 36 matches representing his country.
Panama (+4000)
This is the very first appearance at the World Cup by Panama, who are unquestionably categorized as minnows in such a grand tournament. They may very well find soon that they’re no longer in CONCACAF the moment they play their first match in Russia which is against Euro poiwe Belgium. Los Canaleros will parade a roster which has its best guys playing in the MLS, so nothing really is expected of this team. Panama are also the oldest team with their best player being 32-year-old defender Ramon Torres of the Seattle Sounders.
Key Game – Panama vs Tunisia (June 28)
We all know that it’s going to be England and Belgium who are going to advance to the next stage, so it’s going to be fun watching two minnows duke it out in probably the only match any of these two sides could win.
Writer’s Prediction
In order of finish: Belgium, England, Tunisia, Panama.
