Betting on the Morocco (+1.0)

Morocco is going to the knockout stages after collecting a 2-1-0 record in group play. After drawing with Croatia in their World Cup opener, Morocco picked up a win against Belgium (2-0) and against Canada (2-1). Morocco’s attack is seemingly having success, but their ability to take away prime scoring opportunities from opponents can’t also be ignored. For one, Morocco is tied in the entire 2022 World Cup in shots on target allowed (4) after the group stages. Teams are also averaging just 6.67 shots per 90 minutes versus Morocco, who have topped Group F despite losing the possession battle in all of their three games so far in the tournament.

Betting on the Spain (-1.0)

Spain is going to be a tough test for Morocco, to say the least. The Spanish kicked off their 2022 World Cup campaign by destroying Croatia, 7-0. Spain then had a 1-1 draw against fellow superpower Germany before getting upset by Japan, 2-1. While their momentum has been deflated by their winless streak, Spain should still be definitely like their chances versus Morocco. Sure, Morocco have allowed only a single goal so far, but as mentioned earlier, they have not won the possession battle in any game in the competition to date. Spain are going to get their shots, and they’re a talented team that is also getting tremendous production from Álvaro Morata. The 30-year-old forward has been simply unstoppable of late, scoring a goal in each game in the tourney.

Writer’s Prediction

Spain beat Morocco, 2-0.
