|Brentley Romine||Dustin Johnson|
Johnson has bought a lot with his earnings alone from the tournaments he played at TPC Southwind. And for Romine, it seems that he thinks Johnson is going to be one of the major contenders for the top prize at the 2019 WGC FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis. Johnson, who is No. 2 all-time in career earnings at TPC Southwind is in the middle of a rut, as he hasn’t finished better than T35 in any of his last three starts, including a missed cut at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and a T51 at last week’s 2019 British Open. That said, Johnson is the defending champion of this week’s tournament.
|Mike McClure via CBS Sports Staff||Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele|
Mike McClure of SportsLine, via CBS Sports, is convinced that Rory McIlroy will bounce back strong in Memphis this week. At the 2019 British Open in Northern Ireland, McIlroy had an extremely disappointing performance in which he missed the cut. Prior to that, McIlroy had a T9 at the US Open and won the RBC Canadian Open. As for Schauffele, he had some trouble with his driver at 2019 British Open wherein he finished with a T41. Despite that, it’s hard to ignore the elite consistency Schauffele is showing this season. He has two wins and five top 10s in 17 starts this season so far.
|Rob Bolton||Brooks Koepka|
Of course, no experts predictions piece is complete this season without bringing up Brooks Koepka’s name. Koepka has been a monster in major tournaments, but while the 2019 FedEx St. Jude Classic isn’t one of those, Bolton points to Koepka’s strong performances in the past at the TPC Southwind. Koepka hasn’t missed the cut in five starts there with a T3 and a T2.

|Ryan Simpson||Rory McIlroy|
Ryan is not going to be blinded by McIlroy’s face plant at Royal Portrush last week. That’s perhaps more of a blip in the radar than anything else, as McIlroy has been incredible for the most part of the season. In 15 starts, McIlroy has missed the cut just twice and finished inside the top 10 11 times. He has two wins and a runner-up, too. McIlroy is the Tour’s leader in strokes gained: off the tee and also in strokes gained: tee-to-tee.
