It’s hard to contain our excitement for the first majors event of the year. All the best golfers are going to be in the same place, eyeing for what could be considered as the most prestigious of reward in all of golf in the form of the green jacket. There are 87 players who have qualified for the event but there will only be one man standing when it’s all said and done in Augusta this weekend. With that said, let’s see which players the experts are expecting to walk with their chest out while wearing the green jacket at the end of the tournament. View players odds to win the 2019 Masters here. You can also see which sleepers you should be keeping a close eye on in this separate preview.

The guys over at Golf.com obviously share the same passion for the sport of golf and excitement for the upcoming 2019 Masters, but their picks differ. That said, Rory McIlroy and Francesco Molinari are two standouts, as both have gotten the most selections. McIlroy isn’t much of a surprise here, as he’s the current favorite to win the tournament with odds of +750 to slip on the green jacket this coming weekend. Molinari, on the other hand, is priced +1,500. He’s getting plenty of attention lately, especially following a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a third-place finish at the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play.

Dan Kilbridge | Dustin Johnson |
Christine Brennan | Rory McIlroy |
David Dusek | Rory McIlroy |
Eamon Lynch | Rory McIlroy |
Beth Ann Nichols | Justin Rose |
Steve DeMeglio | Jordan Spieth |
Geoff Shackelford | Tiger Woods |
USA Today’s experts are also loving McIlroy’s chances in Augusta. Christine Brennan is expecting the Northern Irishman to come into the tournament fully motivated. Not that he hasn’t been in that mindset before, but this is McIlroy’s last chance to pull off a rare feat in the sport. If he wins the Masters this weekend, he’ll just be the fifth man to complete a career grand slam before turning 30. There is also some support for Tiger Woods, who is +1,200 to win his fifth Masters and first since 2005 this year. Geoff Shackelford cited Woods’ performance against McIlroy at the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play as a sign of the 14-time majors winner preparedness for the 2019 Masters.
Golf Digest
Expert | Pick |
Alex Myers | Dustin Johnson |
Alex Myers of Golf Digest has no outright pick to win the Masters, but he has Dustin Johnson atop his list of best players to bet on at the 2019 Masters. And it’s not a bad advice at all. Johnson has back-to-back top-10 finishes in his last two appearances at the Masters. He was a T10 last year and a T4 in 2016. He missed the event in 2017 due to a back injury, but he’s been in top form since recovering from that. He has three T6 or better finishes over his last four starts, including a win at the World Golf Championships in Mexico.
TopBet Writer – Ryan Simpson
Expert | Pick |
Ryan Simpson | Rory McIlroy |
TopBet’s resident author is aware that McIlroy just lost to Tiger Woods at the Match Play, but that’s too small of a sample for him to look the other way. It’s still McIlroy for Simpson. He’s been flirting with the green jacket over the past few years. He was a T5 last year and a T7, T10, and placed fourth in three appearances at the Masters prior to 2018. You can read Ryan’s full preview of the 2019 Masters here.
