And what do you know? It’s the Masters again. On April 11 the world’s best golfers will come down to Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia to compete in one of the most prestigious — if not the most prestigious — golfing events on the tour. Of course, a tournament this big means big bucks for the players, and each will be looking to get the largest slice of prize pie apart from aiming to take home the green jacket. And remember, with the financial incentive being bigger than ever, you t00 may be inspired to make picks to deliver a sizable payout of your very own.

Updated Purse Payout and Prize Money Breakdown for the PGA Masters Golf Tournament on April 11-14 2019
Total Payout: $11,000,000 USD
Over the last two years, the total prize pot in the Masters has equaled $11 million, a far cry from the $5,000 in the inaugural year of 1934. Although the latest contract signed by Mike Trout with the Los Angeles Angels dwarfs the current figure, it’s still ton of money for just a few days of work for these talented golfers. Lasts year, Patrick Reed took the coveted wardrobe and the trophy back home together with a hefty $1.98 million. Rickie Fowler was second and injected his bank account with $1.188 million.
One reason why the payout is better at the Masters than most other events is the field size. While a typical PGA Tour event field usually includes over 150 players, the Masters only has fewer than 90. Last year, there were only 87 players who vied for the green jacket.
At press, the committee has not changed the prizing system that has been in play since 2017. For your convenience, we have provided a refresher of what the purse breakdown looks like for the top 50 finishes of the 2019 Masters.
