NASCAR’s biggest and brightest stars will once again look to put on a fantastic show at Charlotte Motor Speedway this Saturday for the 30th edition of the illustrious Sprint All-Star Race. And with the circuit’s best drivers geared up and ready to participate, an extravagant prize – naturally – awaits the winner this weekend.

Since 2003, NASCAR has been awarding the winner of the Sprint All-Star Race a whopping sum of no less than a cool million dollars.
10 drivers have had the fortunate privilege of becoming instant millionaires after just one night of excellence, with NASCAR living legend Jimmie Johnson having won the All-Star race a record four times over – all during the $1 million payout era, including the inaugural introduction of the sizeable purse back in 2003 itself.

Bruton’s Big Bonus
During the 2013 installment of the Sprint All-Star Race, owner/CEO of Speedway Motorsports, Inc., Bruton Smith, came up with an enticing incentive to spice up the competition at the famed event. Smith introduced “Bruton’s Big Bonus”, which awards an additional $1 million to the driver who completes and wins all five segments held during All-Star weekend.
This 2015, however, the All-Star race has once again changed certain qualifying rules and race formats thanks to what many have considered as the Brad Keselowski Rule. This tentatively leaves the massive bonus’ eligibility up in the air, considering that the five-segment format from 2013 has been tweaked to the point where the stipulation of winning the bonus is now unclear.
Nevertheless, Mr. Smith may feel a bit generous this weekend should a particular driver amaze and dominate at both the Sprint Cup Showdown on the Friday and the main race on Saturday. It’s also worth noting that not one driver ever won Bruton’s Big Bonus, so a thoroughly impressive performance from one of NASCAR’s greats may indeed be in for a mind-boggling payday when all is said and done.
