PGATOUR.com polled 13 of their experts and the result was pretty intriguing. Majority of them—five to be exact—expect Jim Furyk (+2,000) to dethrone defending champion Jason Day at the Glen Abbey Golf Club this week.
This pick makes a lot of sense especially when you take into consideration Furyk’s outstanding record at the RBC Canadian Open. The 46-year-old veteran should be bound for a strong run, as he’s found himself in the top-15 in each of his previous three participations there. More importantly, he’s won the event back in 2007 and 2006, which made him just the fifth player in tournament history to win back-to-back titles.
Besides having an impressive track record at Glen Abbey, Furyk is also overflowing with confidence right now thanks to some solid results in the previous two major tourneys. He had a T12 finish back in the U.S. Open and finished solo fourth at Royal Troon last week.

Sam Belden of FanSided has a different opinion. He’s going with one of the obvious favorites in the streaking Dustin Johnson (+500).
Johnson, without a doubt, is the hottest player in the golfing word right now, and there’s no question that he can keep it going this week. Yes, the American didn’t bring home his third-straight victory at Royal Troon, but even so, he displayed a relatively solid performance with a T9 finish. And also, he’s had some good moments at Glen Abbey, the most celebrated of which is a second-place tie in 2013.

Over here at TopBet, we are going to go with another obvious and boring choice in the form of the defending champion Jason Day (+450).
Like Dustin Johnson, Day has also been playing some excellent golf lately. He has a total of seven top-10 finishes in his last nine starts, which includes three victories at Orlando, Texas and Ponte Vedra Beach. The Aussie will also be looking to replicate his eye-popping one-stroke win at this tournament last year.
