Always Dreaming and Classic Empire
The race’s heavy favorite, Always Dreaming, got even stronger in the oddsmakers eyes (as he should). He was pegged at -125 for weeks and is now -140. It’s tough to assume that he can cruise like he did in the Kentucky Derby, but AD’s speed is still at a whole ‘nother level when compared to the competition.
Classic Empire got a slight bump as well. He moved to +240 from the week-long +300 line he had. Though the underwhelming fourth-place finish at the Kentucky Derby, he’s still a top-notch horse with a top-notch jockey in Julian Leparoux, who has loads of tournament wins under his belt, including seven from the Breeder’s Cup.
Lookin at Lee, Cloud Computing, Hence, Conquest Mo Money, and Gunnevara
Something could be up, as Lookin at Lee and Cloud Computing went down in the list and are now tagged with a +1,200 and +1,300 line, respectively. Whatever the reason may be, there’s no denying that outside AD, ‘Lee has one of the best momentums in the whole race, as evidenced by his recent top three finishes. CC, meanwhile, could be one of the freshest horses in the event since he skipped the grand event at Louisville.
As for Hence (+600), Gunnevara (+700), and Conquest Mo Money (+800), they moved up (they were in the +1,000s for much of the week). These three have a lot of strong underdog genes in them – Hence has accolades and great training staff, Gunnevara has proven resiliency, and Conquest Mo Money is a newbie who has great potential to make some noise.
Multiplier, Senior Investment, and Term of Art
Multiplier moved from +3,000 to +1,500 just a few days ago. He’s boasting a win at the Grade 3 Illinois Derby and a decorated jockey in Joel Rosario.
Senior Investment (+5,000) and Term of Art (+5,000), meanwhile, are still bottoming the stakes’ betting lines.
