Pat Mayo of the YouTube show Pat Mayo Hour is siding with his self-confessed favorite, Matt Kuchar (+4,000). He again expressed his confidence on the 39-year-old, especially since the venue (Royal Birkdale) is an “old man’s track.” Mayo then talked about the veteran’s wide array of skills – like the quality of his short game, ability to efficiently putt, and play smoothly in the wind.

Bergerson and Raza from Fantasy Golfers and Fan Vice, respectively, are both going with the guy famous for orange outfits, Rickie Fowler (+1,200), who’s also a fan favorite in just about every tournament.

Like Mayo, Bergerson is staying with one of his current personal favorites (he also picked Fowler to win the US Open), while also stating that with the consistency that Fowler has been showing this season (finished T5 or better in three of his last four), he firmly believes that the kid is bound to win one soon.

Raza has an identical view in his pick. He said that even though he would love to see Paul Casey (+3,000) win, he knows that this is Fowler’s time to fully emerge. Raza then went on to rave about how well Fowler has been playing lately, particularly about being great in the sand and approaches.

As for Kim, although he admits that he was close to also picking Fowler to win, he ultimately decided that Matsuyama (+1,800) is a better way to go. Kim’s selection is all about who has the most notable stats and trends, which is always great basis. Matsuyama is top 10 in T2G (tee 2 green), OTT (over-the-top), and birdie or better percentage (BoB), and has also ended up T22 or better in four of his last five events.
