Indianapolis Colts vs Cincinnati Bengals Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – NFL Week 8 2017

The Cincinnati Bengals opened up as 10-point favorites, but the line was bet up to -11. The total opened at 41 and also moved up a bit, to 41.5. The Bengals dropped to 2-4 straight up and 3-3 against the spread (ATS) after Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Indianapolis Colts got beat down at home against division rival Jacksonville, slipping to 2-5 straight up and 3-4 against the spread as of Week 8. These are two teams without much in the way of playoff aspirations, so they’ll be playing for bragging rights. Bet accordingly.

Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (2-5)

Point Spread: (+11)

The Indianapolis Colts are a struggling team this season. At 2-5 overall and 0-3 in AFC South
games. Indianapolis needs wins. A lot of the reason the Colts are three games under .500, is
because of the starting quarterback issues.

All Pro quarterback Andrew Luck has been out all season. The Colts were hopeful he could
return to action soon, but has been held out of all throwing drills due to a setback in his rehab
process. Now it looks like the Colts will be leaning heavily on Jacoby Brissett. Brissett has been
the starter since week one for Indianapolis, and should plan on it the rest of the year.
Brissett has not played bad this season. He has 1409 yards passing with three touchdowns, and
three interceptions on the year. The Defense has not played well either for the Colts. The unit is
allowing over 375 yards of total offense per game this season. The secondary has been especially
bad. Allowing 311 yards per game.

The run defense has also been absent. The Colts are allowing 124 yards on the ground per game.
If the Colts can’t get to Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton early, expect a big day from Dalton
and talented wide receiver A.J. Green. The tandem can give secondary’s fits.

Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (2-4)

Point Spread: (-11)

The Cincinnati Bengals were embarrassed on the road last week in Pittsburgh. The Bengals
offense looked terrible in the second half. Not scoring a point. Cincinnati started out hot, scoring
14 in the first half. The Bengals offense was shut down. Dalton and the crew only gained 179
total yards in the loss. Dalton was 17 of 30 passing for 140 yards, two touchdowns and two
interceptions.

A.J. Green was almost non existent. He finished with three catches for 41 yards and no
touchdowns. Running back Joe Mixon was productive with seven rushes for 48 yards, but his
carries were limited.

On defense, the Bengals have played well this year, but looked bad against the Steelers last
week. They allowed 420 yards of offense. Cincinnati only allows 307 yards per game this
season. The Bengals defense should be ready for this game. After getting embarrassed on the
road last week, they should be able to contain the Colts at home.

Writer’s Prediction:

With the Colts being on the road, Indianapolis will need their offense to get going early. if not
this could be a long day. Take the Bengals at home. The defense should limit the Colts scoring,
leading to the Bengals win. Pick: Cincinnati Bengals (-10.5)
