Betting on the Tennessee Titans (6-4)
The Tennessee Titans have had a decent season this year, and if the season ended today they would be the 5th seed and be playing in the Wild Card weekend, but they really feel like they should have had a couple more wins and maybe even be leading the division.
Coming into this game they had won four in a row, before losing their last game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They didn’t just lose the game, they got embarrassed losing by a final score of 40-17. The fact they gave up 40 points against a Steelers team that ha struggled to score for most of the season is very concerning going forward.
In this game the defensive side of the ball is going to be very important. The Colts have been very inconsistent on offense so far this year, and the Titans need to make sure they don’t get comfortable on that side of the ball. On the offensive side Marcus Mariota needs to take care of the ball. In the game against the Steelers he threw four interceptions and that isn’t going to cut it for a team that not only wants to make the playoffs but have success when they get their.
Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (3-7)
On the other side of this match up is the Indianapolis Colts, who have had all kinds of issues this year, and a lot of it has to do without having Andrew Luck leading their team. They come into this game having lost two of the last three games, but the two losses were by a total of four points.
They come into this one of a bye, but in their last game they played the Steelers, and they only lost by three points. Jacoby Brissett has stepped in for Andrew Luck and he has played well for a guy who was supposed to be a third stringer coming into this season.
He has thrown for 2172 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions. The fact he has only five interceptions is a very positive sign. To win this game the offense needs to have success, and the defense needs to figure out a way to create a couple of turnovers.
Writer’s Prediction:
Mariota can’t be coming into this game with much confidence, and I think that he will throw a couple more turnovers in this game. I think that will allow the Colts to keep it really close. I think the Titans will win the game, but the Colts will cover the spread. Pick: Colts (+4.5)
