The Nets will close the curtain to their 2017-18 NBA season this Wednesday in Boston, where they have been money for spread bettors in their past few visits there.  Although the Nets are just 4-6 SU in their last 10 trips to Beantown, they have gone 7-3 ATS over that span. Moreover, they are 4-0 ATS in their four most recent travels to Boston. Boston is obviously he better team in this matchup, but the gap between the two is closer today than in any of their previous meetings as the Celtics are missing some key pieces in Marcus Smart and Kyrie Irving who are both out with injuries. Caris LeVert and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson are averaging 15.5 and 15.3 points, respectively, in games versus Boston this season, while Spence Dinwiddie has chipped in 14.0.  Three-point shooting will be key for the Nets here, as they are second in the league this season with 12.7 three-pointer made per contest.

The Celtics are banged up. As mentioned, they don’t have Irving and Smart. That’s aside from missing Gordon Hayward, though, they have figured out how to win games without him. But can they find a way to win without Irving? That may be tough, but that shouldn’t be a big problem this Wednesday since the Nets are a team no one could mistake for the Houston Rockets or the Golden State Warriors. The Celtics still have Terry Rozier, Jayson, Tatum, and Jaylen Brown to lead the team not to mention Al Horford. Horford should have a field day snacking on the Nets’ poor interior defense that allows the fourth most points in the paint per game this season with 48.1. There’s also Marcus Morris, who has averaged a decent 14.7 points to go with 5.3 rebounds in the three meetings so far with Brooklyn this season.

Writer’s Prediction:

Brooklyn wins, 103-101.
