Golden State Warriors vs San Antonio Spurs Predictions, Picks, Odds, and Betting Preview – NBA Playoffs Round 1 Game 3 – April 18 2018

The Golden State Warriors are back to playing like the Golden State Warriors, the very same team that the rest of the NBA fears going up against. The Warriors have taken a 2-0 series lead against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday with a 116-101 win, but can the Spurs cut down the series deficit in half when they take their turn in hosting the Warriors? Or will Golden State dominate anew?

Betting on the Golden State Warriors (-3)

The Warriors have truly flipped the switch in these playoffs. After playing with minimal effort in the last few games of the regular season, the Warriors are finally shooting like they’re not from this planet again. So far in the first round, the defending NBA champions have made 53.5 percent of their field goal attempts and 47.2 percent of their attempts from deep. In Game 2, the Warriors went 15-for-31 from deep (48.4%). Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson proved too much for San Antonio, as they scored 32 and 31 points, respectively, with both shooting better than 50 percent from the floor.

The Warriors are showing they are simply just too good for the Spurs to handle, and they will look to dominate San Antonio this Thursday at  AT&T Center, where Golden State is 4-1 SU and ATS in its last five outings.

Betting on the San Antonio Spurs (+3)

Unfortunately for Gregg Popovich and the Spurs, Danny Green did not add four inches and Kevin Durant remains a lethal offensive force. And now that the Spurs are down in a 0-2 series hole, they are pressed to deliver a great performance this Thursday if they want to extend their life a little longer in this series. One key for the Spurs is to have their shots click from inside and outside the arc. They were able to keep in step with the Warriors’ outside shooting in Game 1 with nine 3-pointers, but were outscored by a huge margin in the paint. The inverse was true in Game 2 with the Spurs knocking down just four threes, but scoring 22 more points in the paint than Golden State. LaMarcus Aldridge is going to be the man for San Antonio, and he showed that by scoring 34 points in Game 2. Still, more help is needed. Patty Mills provided 21 points in Game 2, but can he or any other Spur outside of Aldridge be a consistent contributor?

The Spurs are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction
