Betting on the Golden State Warriors (-1.0)
Regular Season Record: 44-38
The Warriors will be looking to get even with Sacramento after losing in Game 1, 126-123. In that game, Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 30 points on 11/20 shooting while Klay Thompson supplied Golden State with 21 points. They might have to do even more in Game 2 with Jordan Poole labeled questionable at the time of this writing. THe Warriors are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games after a failed cover. The Warriors are also 47-22-4 against the spread in their last 73 Monday games.
Betting on the Sacramento Kings (+1.0)
Regular Season Record: 48-34
De’Aaron Fox exploded for 38 points in Game 1 to lead the Kings to the team’s first playoff win in nearly two decades. Malik Monk also came up huge with 32 points as part of Sacramento’s bench. Fox and Monk greatly mitigated the impact of the poor performances of Domantas Sabonis and Kevin Huerter offensively. Sabonis is poised to show up with a better scoring output after going 5/17 for 12 points in Game 1, while Huerter only had six points in the series opener. The Kings are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against Golden State. The total has also hit the Under in four of their last five outings.
Writer’s Prediction
The Kings win, 125-120.
