Starters: Alex Cobb (0-5, 7.06 ERA) vs. Drew Pomeranz (1-1, 5.47 ERA)
Pitching:
It’s been a rotten campaign for Alex Cobb so far, as he’s gone winless in six starts during which he accrued a dizzying ERA of 7.06. In his last outing, he allowed three earned runs on seven hits while striking out seven in 5.2 innings of a 10-3 home loss to Tampa Bay on May 12. Believe it or not, that’s his best outing to date this year. The over is 4-2 in his six starts this year. Boston will have Drew Pomeranz, who compared to Cobb, is like a Cy Young candidate. Pomeranz pitched for four innings on May 13 in a 5-3 road win over Toronto, yielding three earned runs on five hits with six K’s. The Red Sox are 3-1 in Pomeranz’s last four starts against the Orioles.
Hitting:
- Christian Vazquez is 8-for-11 in his career vs. Cobb
- Trey Mancini is 3-for-9 lifetime vs. Pomeranz.

He owns a 3-5 record with a 4.66 ERA in 13 appearances versus the Red Sox. Rick Porcello, meanwhile, has allowed 10 earned runs on 17 hits in his last two starts (both losses). He is 2-1 with a 3.54 ERA at home so far this year.
