The Ole Miss Rebels picked themselves up after getting embarrassed in a loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide two weeks ago by defeating the lowly Kent State Golden Flashes on Sunday. Up ahead for the Rebels is a stiffer challenge in the form of the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge. The Tigers are coming off a win against a minnow themselves, but will they be able to tame Ole Miss? Or will the Rebels steal a win in Death Valley?
NCAA football futures list Ole Miss with +100,000 to win the College Football Championship while LSU looks much better at +4,000.

Betting on the Ole Miss Rebels (3-1 Overall / 0-1 Conference)
Once again, Ole Miss’ passing game lit up the sky last Saturday. Hosting the visiting Kent State Golden Flashes, the Rebels heavily relied on the arm of quarterback Jordan Ta’amu, who torched the visitors’ defense for 442 passing yards and two touchdowns on 28 of 38 passes. Ta’amu is tops in the SEC with 339.8 passing yards per game to go with 10 passing touchdowns against only three interceptions. Thanks to Ta’amu and his bevvy of talented receivers, the Rebels have managed to rank 23rd in the nation with 303.7 passing yards per game. That becomes especially impressive when considering the fact that the Rebels actually run more offensive plays on the ground than on the air, as they have opted to run the ball 50.5 percent of the time so far this season. Speaking of which, the Rebels are averaging 178.0 rushing yards per game. Junior running back Scottie Phillips paces the Rebels with 467 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns on the season.
The Rebels are 2-0-1 ATS in their last three road games.
Betting on the LSU Tigers (4-0 Overall / 1-0 Conference)
The Tigers were not going to allow themselves be on the receiving end of a huge upset last Saturday, as they outlasted Louisiana Tech at home, 38-21. The Tigers experienced tremendous pressure from Louisiana Tech, which cut LSU’s lead down to three points early in the fourth quarter. However, LSU managed to create plenty of breathing room by turning to their backfield that scored two touchdowns in the final period. Clyde Edwards-Helaire finished the game with a robust stat line of 136 rushing yards and two touchdown rushes on 20 carries. Nick Brossette, meanwhile, had 78 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground on 23 attempts. Up against Ole Miss’ shaky defense that is allowing opponents 170.7 rushing yards per game, Edwards-Helaire and Brossette could be staring at another opportunity to explode out of the Tigers’ backfield. LSU is also a perfect 16 of 16 (nine touchdowns, seven field goals) in red zone scoring chances so far this season.
The Tigers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
LSU wins, 37-24.
