The upcoming matchup between the North Carolina A&T Aggies and the Alcorn State at the Celebration Bowl isn’t the glitziest college football game during this time of the year, but that doesn’t mean it does not deserve the attention of bettors. For one, it features two of the best teams in the nation on the FCS level. The two squads faced off in the Celebration Bowl back in December 19 2015 where the Aggies won 41-34, but the sportsbook favors Alcorn State here in 2018, with a point spread greater than a touchdown.

Betting on the North Carolina A&T Aggies (9-2 Record)
The Aggies are heading into a bowl game matchup with Alcorn State in fine form. They have won all of their last four games, a stretch that also includes their annihilation of the North Carolina Central Eagles in a 45-0 road win on Nov. 18. In that game, North Carolina A&T’s offense was bursting with energy, thanks in equal parts to their talent and the pathetic defense of their opponents. Aggies quarterback Lamar Reynolds went 16 of 23 for 257 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions, while running back Marquell Cartwright led the backfield with 110 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Overall, the Aggies scored four rushing touchdowns in addition to their 251 total rushing yards. The Aggies won the MEAC this season by relying on their balanced offense and defense. They are producing 29.2 points per game, while limiting opponents to only 14.8 points per contest.
The Aggies are 3-0 straight up (SU) in their last three games away from home.
Betting on the Alcorn State Braves (9-3 Record)
Like the Aggies, Alcorn State finished first in its conference, the SWAC. The Braves also have a quarterback who can make things happen through the air and on the ground in the form of Noah Johnson, who passed for 135 yards (18/25) with no errors and rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries in Alcorn State’s 37-28 win over the Southern Jaguars at home on Dec. 2 to win the conference title. With Johnson spearheading the Braves’ attack, the team has managed to rank eighth in the FCS in terms of rushing offense with an average of 282.3 rushing yards per game. Johnson is fourth in the FCS with a fantastic 7.38 rushing yards per carry. However, Johnson will have to avoid the Braves’ offense from being too predictable, considering that the Aggies are tops in the FCS in rushing defense with just 72.6 yards allowed on the ground per contest. That means throwing the ball more and relying on receivers Raidarious Anderson and Chris Blair more.
The Braves are 5-1 SU in their last six games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
Alcorn State wins, 27-23.
