Golf Digest

Expert Pick
Alex Myers Dustin Johnson

Sure, Koepka is looking like a beast of late, which Myers acknowledged, but in his rankings for his top golfers heading into the US Open, the Golf Digest resident expert appears to have more belief in Johnson. Johnson is priced at +1,000 to win the 2019 US Open having a strong stretch of late, having copped a pair of runner-up finishes at the Masters Tournament and at the PGA Championship. He was leading the RBC Heritage through the first three rounds before disintegrating in the fourth, which slid him all the way down to a T28 campaign. In any case, the fact remains that Johnson has some of his best days at Pebble Beach, where he has two wins and a couple of second-place campaigns.

CBS Sports

Expert Golfer to watch out for
Mike McClure Rickie Fowler

McClure of SportsLine, via CBS Sports, is high on the chances of Rickie Fowler to come out of nowhere and win the 2019 US Open. Fowler is +2,000 to win the tournament and is coming off a T14 finish at the Memorial Tournament. Fowler has not won a major thus far in his career, which McClure thinks is a shame, since the golfer is among the best in the business. Fowler has had many near-misses before, though, and it could be just a matter of time before he finally raises a trophy at a major event.  He is currently sixth in the majors in scoring average, 24th in birdie average, and 10th in eaglers (holes per). In 14 starts this season, Fowler has five top 10s and eight top 25s, with a lone win, coming from a victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open last February.

PGA.com

Expert Pick
Dan McDonald Tiger Woods

Dan McDonald is fully aware of Woods’ greatness, as evidenced by his confidence in the golfer to win at Pebble Beach this month. That despite McDonald knowing that Woods hasn’t competed at Pebble Beach since 2013. For McDonald, the legendary performance of Woods at the course in the 2000 US Open in which he demolished the competition by a masterful 15-stroke lead. Woods is +800 to win the 2019 US Open.

TopBet Writer – Ryan Simpson

Expert Pick
Ryan Simpson Brooks Koepka

TopBet’s Ryan Simpson likes to keep it simple. For him, the best golfer this year will win it all this month at Pebbles Beach. Koepka has won each of the last two US Opens, albeit in different locations, but with the kind of golf he is playing now, it doesn’t matter for him where a tournament is going to be played. Koepka has two wins on the season, including the title he won at the PGA Championship in May. Koepka has the shortest odds to win the 2019 US Open at +700.
