Betting on the St. Louis Blues (45-28-9 Regular Season)

The Blues let a grand opportunity slip away from them in Game 6, failing to win the Stanley Cup at home, as they lost to Boston, 5-1.Despite that, hopes are high for the Blues, whose coach appears to have a very positive outlook for his team. In an interview following Game 6’s debacle, Blues head coach Craig Berube reminder everyone that winning a road game in Boston isn’t something that fazes his team. After all, they already have two wins in Beantown in the series, beating the Bruins at TD Garden in Games 2 and 5. Key to those wins for St. Louis was the outstanding job of Jordan BInnington in front of the net, turning away a combined total of 62 shots on 65 faced. Binnington got chased hard in Game 6, and the Blues need him to forget his letdown of a performance in that contest and put on a show to match Tuukka Rask in Boston this coming Wednesday.

The Blues are 4-1 in their last five road games.

Betting on the Boston Bruins (49-24-9 Regular Season)

The Bruins were not going down that easily to St. Louis, as they imposed their will on their opponent, especially on offense in Game 6. After going scoreless on the power play in the previous two games, the Bruins’ special teams woke up and went 1-for-2 on the man advantage in Game 6. Conversely, Boston shut down the Blues’ power play, as they went a perfect 4-for-4 in penalty killing. The biggest performer of the night was no other then Rask, who made 28 saves on 29 shots faced. Rask has been shaky in the past few games, but he’s a proven big-time performer and having  the advantage of playing at home-ice in a pressure-packed Game 7 isn’t too shabby of an edge. Seeing its offense explode in Game 6 is also a good sign for Boston, which got two goals from top-liners David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand.

The over is 4-2 in Boston’s last two games at home.

Writer’s Prediction

Boston wins, 4-3.
